Death of Wolverine connecting covers

Midtown Comics in New York City is excited to announce four exclusive connecting variants for Logan's send-off in The Death of Wolverine #1-4, with cover art by J. Scott Campbell and colors by Ula Mos.

Charles Soule is the writer of the new 4-part mini-series where our favorite invulnerable mutant finally meets his end. In honor of Wolverine's long, impressive journey, J. Scott Campbell beautifully depicts a different stage of Logan's life in each of his four connecting covers. We get to see past lovers, exotic sceneries, various costumes, and a classic centerpiece connecting it all.

Death of Wolverine #1-3 will all be available at Midtown Comics' booth #2036 at New York Comic Con 2014, with issue #4 arriving shortly after on 10/15. Comic fans can also find these variants online and in-stores while supplies last!

J. Scott Campbell rose to fame as an artist for Wildstorm Comics, and has since done work for Marvel Comics, including notable variants of Amazing Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Age of Ultron, and more.

Death of Wolverine: Written by Charles Soule with art by Steve McNiven. Over the years, Logan has been a warrior, a hero, a renegade, a samurai, a teacher, and so much more. But now, the greatest X-Men hero will play a role he's never played before. With the recent loss of his healing factor, you won't want to miss the thrilling conclusion of this four-part miniseries.

Take a closer look at the Sentinels in Days of Future Past

Just when you thought Trask Industries (An odd annagram for Stark.. just leaving that out in the open) back to the news at hand THE SENTINELS ARE COMING!, THE SENTINELS ARE COMING! Hide yo mutants hide yo kids!

"Trask Industries continues to uncover new ways to control the mounting X-gene threat," reads the pseudo-corporate site. "In 1973, Trask Industries introduced the first Sentinel production model, the Mark I. Bolivar Trask’s groundbreaking research in AI, robotics and autonomous ballistic systems laid the foundation for the world's most capable anti-mutant defense system. Since the program's inception, we’ve continued to advance our founder's cause through eight additional generational upgrades and enhancements."

Worried about the Sentinels lacking in the size department? Well stop worrying about that the movies coming out next year.. Plus the Sentinels are getting a Mark X upgrade in the movie which is my guess to be in the year 2020 where we'll be taken to the future.

Our mutants will definitely need to be from all across the movie verse to face these threats. especially with the mutant inhibitor collars being shown I'm pretty sure this is going to be a tough fight for our mutants past and future.

The Wolverine connects its claws to Days of Future Past

The top question on everyone's minds regarding The Wolverine is if it will connect to the Days of Future Past movie as well with Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine being such a big part of the series but I digress. The Wolverine takes place on it's own after things have already been established not to draw confusion to the previous continuity but it can still be used for the sake of argument. A quote below can now be seen on how the two movies can and hopefully will co-exist:

"Bryan and I have talked and he's seen what we've done," the director said. "Clearly the reality is that we are all trying to work together and make things groove together. But the trick is we were making our movie before Bryan came on and before I knew what they were up to in that film. Our agenda was always our agenda and our movie stands alone, so the journey we take Logan on in The Wolverine, we bring to a close."

What fans are expecting from The Wolverine

While it's doubtful Logan's journey will end after this movie it sure as hell will prepare him to go Sentinel hunting in Days of Future Past, hurry up July 26th so we can see our  post credits scene to another Marvel movie!

What fans are expecting from The Wolverine

Another Wolverine movie is upon us and I've been waiting to see Hugh Jackman in his funnest role and best known to us comic nerds. What's to happen though? I'll get the claws rolling on what should happen and what i think should be expected for us fans.

Wolverine goes through the Japan Arc. and to us fans that know and anyone new reading this for the first time be prepared to follow Wolverine's journey through love, honor, and vulnerability.

Silver Samurai is a villain in the movie so we already know Wolverine has the trust and respect of various Japanese officials and then loses it.. does he come to his senses or is it because of love?

Mutants? Hugh Jackman mentioned when the movie was first announced they wouldn't be sure if they sure if they would add mutants... but who else could they add without hurting the plot and giving enough screen time  to?
Psylocke - Someone we'd love to see in the movies represented correctly of course, the way the plot and casting is going seeing her might be wishful thinking as even a cameo she deserves more than that.
Yuriko aka Lady Deathstrike - Wolverine's love during the Arc and from what i can see looking at casting and confirmed characters she might have a shot of making it as she'd be an essential part of the love for Wolverine and seeking revenge.

Weapon X included? It'd be nice to see Lord Dark Wind due to the fact that he made a bonding adamantium to bone project similar to Wolverine's and since "He's vulnerable and cant heal properly" can the lord make his appearance and have fans thinking Wolverine may have too much to handle?

Being a master martial artist at some point in the journey to rising above all of his odds it'd be preferred to have a Wolverine less dependent on his claws that can still throw down in hand to hand combat.

We've got a journey ourselves ahead of us when The Wolverine hits theaters full of action, emotion and to top it off it's a great arc to start with hopefully more happens like an awesome after credit scene.

After credit scene 1:
Wolverine is in the present drinking in a bar and one of two scenario's happen:
Sniffing a familiar scent he simply says "What do you want now Fury?"
Nick Fury bring an eagle S.H.I.E.L.D. folder discussing the possibility of Wolverine joining the Avengers Initiative.

The Wolverine stands alone.. and regenerates alone

I've been on the prowl using my super.. research and blogging powers to bring you The Wolverine news you all need! So when i first told you guys It started filming in the Outback or remember the time i Put Wolverine and others on my Avengers 2 wishlist i couldn't bring anything else you guys didn't know about? This movie takes place possibly after X-men 2? (I don't think they ever made a sequel) The film is already described as a Japanese Noir film with a tenpole of action in it.

Learning from X-Men Origins we all assumed the sequel was going to be another prequel that would lead up to X-men.. man were we wrong. This movie is going to be a solo production (Taking place after that movie that shall not be named) The world Wolverine knew is gone.. Jean is gone (but coming back!) and the X-men are disbanded more than Destiny's Child, leaving our poor Logan feeling lonely and wandering the world hence the Japan Saga and and Silver Samurai (I suggest Maggie Q as Lady Deathstrike) i know i was one of the many fans that felt  Captain America lacked some flashbacks when Steve and Logan served in WWII but in the Wolverine we will see some WWII flashbacks.. and possibly Chris Evans? or some already shot footage. SO much to take in at once i know but get your creative juices going and think of some possibilities who knows we can be right!

"That's something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place in his timeline,"James Mangold went on to say. "I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me that's such an interesting part of Logan's character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie."

Wolverine gets a blast from the... "Insert Time Frame here"

Meanwhile in Australia Famke Janssen... that's right the actress who portrays Jean Grey appeared in Sydney ... To the set of WOLVERINE!? Either they are getting into character early or i smell a cameo appearance. Hints say that Famke will be in some kind of time based flash for Wolverine but with The Wolverine taking place after Origins making another prequel or it taking place in a time line where it's logical to how they could meet is still a mystery  all in all you guys know I'm excited to see my girl back as Jean Grey. Proving that plans to recast them is going a lot smoother than we thought, sooner or later the Phoenix will be out of the bag and we'll see if our boy Logan is getting a flashback of his future with the X-men and or it's future as a movie franchise. Hitting theaters next year rumors will speculate long before and after so stay tuned here for the best and remember.. Geek out and Enjoy your Lives!

Fox recruits Mark Millar for movies... MAXIMUM AWESOME!

Ever wonder when the hell Marvel was going to step up there game even more in the movies department with other franchises? well look no further because Fox has recruited Mark Millar as a creative consultant for such movies as X-Men and Fantastic Four! I know that's so much to take in so I'll it down for you take a breather and keep reading. So far Fox has... Daredevil (shudder) under it's belt as movies without the help of Mark Millar and now its obvious with his years of writing Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four this help could not have come at a better time with Disney owning Marvel can the arrival of The Wolverine hitting theaters July 23, 2013 and Days of Future Past coming 2014 with everything happening to us movie wise in the next couple years can we see these franchises merged to help us against Thanos?! Mark Millar can most likely make it happen and if that wasn't enough a rebooted Josh Trank Fantastic Four reboot is on the way also!

Patrick Stewart playing real life mind tricks on us?

When the man himself Sir Patrick Stewart was asked about returning to his iconic and perfectly cast role as Professor Xavier he simply smiled and said "I think there is every possibility".. Come on! Why not bring him back i think the plans go farther than we think with Sir Ian McKellen returning as Magneto you cant have one without the other honestly so i think we can take that as a yes! He also added some sprinkles to the hype cake and added the names of his female co-stars: Halle Berry (Storm) Famke Janssen (Jean Grey/ Phoenix) and was caught saying.. "Yes I'll be reprising...." only to be cut off by someone saying and of course Hugh Jackman and Sir Ian McKellen. Not sure if all the starts from the previous franchises would reprise there roles i would love to see them again as the characters they brought such life to especially Hugh, Halle, and Famke as the respective characters and of course Ian and Patrick. In the hands of another director now that Marvel is working hard to make movies great X-men can be revived and take place after X-men 2 traditionally.

We'll see what happens with the first class sequel though that is taking place during days of future past which has old and young versions of major characters Patrick can have his start in that and then Marvel's Phase 2 or even Phase 3 can have X-men 4 under it's belt!

The Wolverine sets it's production in the Outback

Must read The Wolverine article!

With all kinds of rumors surrounding The Wolverine its a breath of fresh air we get the news that it begins filming this year and will start in Sydney, Australia as a bonus. Great to hear that while rumors were saying they were halting this movie to work on something else, its an awesome thing they kept the priorities and endless possibilities with Hugh Jackman and Wolverine in the front seat. Not sure if you guys know but the Japan arc is the story where he meets Lady Deathstrike (Played by Kelly Hu in X2) and Silver Samurai they would be perfect characters to give Wolverine a run for his money and the great beginning to something great for Wolverine for his character development. Another thing is what happens at the end of this movie? Will it pull a Captain America and flash forward Wolverine into the present day with Sam Jackson aka Nick Fury telling him about the Avengers Initiative and he's been chosen to join the Avengers!!!?? that would be the most hype thing to do since Wolverine is on the top of lists everywhere since in the comics he joined since he was the only one willing to kill people and the team knew that. Plus Wolverine and Captain America have a past of fighting in the same war together so imagine there faces when they see each other after all those years.

Another thing is since the Avengers all have the iconic costumes of the comic counterparts or a remixed version does this mean we could see Hugh Jackman in the classic yellow Wolverine outfit?!

But i know what your all thinking... how can Wolverine connect to the marvel universe correctly? Well my idea for a great ending scene to the next Wolverine movie:

*Wolverine smokes a cigar after everything he just went through with the japan arc.. when suddenly a figure comes behind him, Wolverine doesn't need to turn around as his only words are...*

"What do you want now Fury?"

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE.... NOT YOU GUYS NEW ONES

While the hype for The Avengers in 2012 is killing me to even think about (Even more torture to write about, i love you guys so i will push through my hype!) Sequels are being passed around like brownies in Marvel: Iron Man 3, Thor 2, possibly Captain America 2 and other sequels and all new movies. When asked the question about keeping the team together or seperating them into new teams as the movies go on Kevin Feige was stated saying "Absolutely. That's the fun of it -- introducing new characters," So let's go down a list of possible "New characters they can add."

Without keeping the core concept of the big three or four of the avengers would probably lead to nerd rage, lets say they just keep Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk the epic combination of Human, Machine, God and Hulk. Alot of other Marvel Characters have been in The Avengers over the years so here comes my list of characters that have more than enough right to be in the movie and on the team:

Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine:
The entire reason for him being on the team at first was because they needed someone who would kill without question and there enters Wolverine. I feel that he needs no introduction and can easily be added into the movie without hurting any story elements movie-verse wise, plus seeing him go at it with the team wouldnt hurt. Lets not forget the icing on the cake HULK VS WOLVERINE! Seeing that live action sure as hell would be a treat.

T'Challa aka Black Panther:
I would hope he makes his live action debut as an avengers member but i feel like he deserves a little more of a spotlight than just introducing him right away, Although Wakanda is an easy place to refrence and go to think about where Cap would get a new sheild if Iron Man cant make another one and then vibranium can be a plot point in the sequel.

Ant Man and Wasp aka Hank Pym and Janet Dyne:
The Avengers couple that made it first on the team, if all goes according to plan and they can land there own solo movies the sequel of The Avengers is a peice of cake for them. Will be nice to see them appear in a movie and do some work on the team.

Scarlet Witch and The Vision aka Wanda Maximoff and Vision Shade:
Another power couple among The Avengers this would be harder on Scarlet Witch's part being the daughter of Magneto and all. If there thinking of adding her they would have to do it strategically and not just skip past years of X-men stories just to add her in, Wanda and her powers are something and rarely seen in comic book movies now a days reality manipulation would be a great power to add in the end. Vision is easier to add since he's the teams informative officer and there machine when they need there info quick.
