Free to play you will be in November

Well the news i first brought to the rumor pool can now take a dip out of the water because it is now true! Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting a free to play make over just in time for.... Thanksgiving? Stuff yourself with food and beef up your characters level! Sign me up! Obviously there will be some restrictions and i will be the one to fill you in so you know what your in for.

You can experience the eight story lines up to level 50

Not a bad level cap if i do say so it gives new players the chance to really explore the game in and out and having a longer decision to going into it further or not.

Certain areas will be accessible and others wont.

Obviously they don't want to have the gap between free and premium the same to the point where no one else would likely pay money to subscribe and still as long as i can play the game and enjoy it blocked off areas wont be that much of a big deal to me.

In order to access those "blocked off" areas a new currency system called cigarettes will be introduced.... I'm joking Cartel Coins will be introduced to the game for players to purchase more content in the game. Think of the coins as an allowance for being a loyal subscriber so you can get gear, in game items and other convenient items you've had your eye on. I 've been wanting to play the MMO for quite some time and something was pulling me back now with the announcement of it being free to play i feel like i waited for all the right reasons.

Here's the story of a Star Wars family that you can finally make in Old Republic

When i play MMO's i always make my other characters somehow related to each other gives it a more personal feel for me and gives my characters a lot more back story as to what they might be fighting for or even against. the update Legacy will allow players to do that and more:

After you at least complete the story based Mission 0 of sorts storyline your most likely second made character will be able to pick the family or in this case legacy last name so other players can identify and see how many people picked Vader, Skywalker, and Solo.
Once you unlock enough Legacy Points you can then choose relation to a previously made character: Brother and sister (Make sure you don't kiss not knowing your related OK?) Parents or even Husband or wife depending on character gender.

Always love waiting for things that cost money to become free.... possibly

First when DC Universe comes out and i was eager to play it but it costs money... so i waited and now its free to play. Star Wars the Old Republic is out and again not enough money so now they say it might go FTP.... eventually (WTH!) Well with a game as great as Old Republic i will make another sacrifice of paying just like i do for WoW. In the minds of the people responsible for the MMORPG a free to play MMO cannot deliver the same kind of experience that can be delivered from one you have to pay for.

Do you guys also think anything with George Lucas and his name would be free? Sorry even i know better than to think that, its pretty expensive to keep the Star Wars name and Lucas bank account growing requires our money and let's not forget when DLC content roles around paying our subscription fee is just the back up they need to make us and our DLC the best we ever could have offered. I don't think it matters if Old Republic goes free or not i would still play it either way and you all should too.
