Dead or Alive 5+ Review

Hello everyone I am a new edition to DarkPhoenix Inc. My name is Shadow and I am here to bring you the games that MrDarkPhoenix is too lazy to write and well since he is such a Xbox fanboy as well I am here to bring you the reviews dealing with games that are coming out for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita. Well along with the reviews of games I am also here to give you the latest news with games as best as I could possibly give also!!

The next line in the Dead or Alive series comes in your hands for the Playstation Vita in Dead or Alive 5+.I know I know the question you all have in your mind when it comes to this is "oh great another port coming to the vita that's going to be bad also" but I am here today to prove you are wrong about that thought if you read on you will see why I am saying this.

If you don't read on Mila will do this to you!!!

The story takes place 2 years after the events that occurred in the Fourth Dead or Alive World Championship  Tournament but this time shockingly enough the person who is in control of the committee and is trying to rebuild it for the better is none other than Helena herself!!. I guess it sucks having to fix everything that Victor Donovan did in order to make the public believe that DOATEC is trying to do good and she makes Zack her promoter to hold the best tournament ever. But as always you can always say in every DOA game everything is always Kasumi's fault!!! But moving on, all your favorite people make a come back in this game  such as Ayane, Tina Armstrong, Kasumi, Helena, Ryu Hayabusa, Christie and a lot of other characters are in the game also.

One thing I should also mention is the game itself is smooth and runs at 60 frames per second (to be honest that is pretty amazing for a handheld!!) and the visuals are beautiful from the 3D backgrounds to the designs of the characters. The biggest thing that can be said about this port is the fact that it is cross compatible with the Playstation 3 version!! That's right take some time to bask it in a bit but you can play someone who has the PS3 version and kick some ass without even having to pick up a controller. Another thing is that you can also play online with it as well so you can play anyone from around the world that has the PS3 or Vita version. The Vita version also has another feature called Touch Fighting where you use the swipe features of the vita to fight the opponent and it does this in a first person style as well.

What Team ninja also did for the game for those who would own both the ps3 and the Vita version is that you can cross save your data for both games to fully customize your characters any where you go no matter what or where you go and lets not forget all the costumes and DLC that is available to dress up your favorite characters in different outfits.

Come on who wouldn't enjoy seeing two beautiful women in bunny bikinis fighting

Lets sum up this review
Good points:
  • Beautiful Visuals and no lag time with everything running at 60 frames per second all the time
  • All your favorite characters make a come back
  • Cross compatible with the PS3 version and able to cross save to keep customizing your character no matter where you go
  • Already has a lot of DLC available in the store to buy so you can dress up your favorite characters
 Bad points:
  • The Touch Fighting feature is a good feature but it does take a while to get used to it

As far as it goes to Try, Buy or Shy I would recommend to buy this game and take it from me I am not a person who plays fighters and enjoys them like how i enjoyed playing this game. Team Ninja did an amazing job porting this game to the Vita and keeping it as beautiful and fun as the PS3 and Xbox360 version.

Games i would like to see on the PS Vita: Resident Evil: Reliving Horror

I am a Resident Evil FANATIC i love the series so much and always shell out my money whenever capcom makes a new one, (Which is why i am getting my 3DS next year for Resident Evil Revelations.) with that being said when the PS Vita gets there exclusive title guess whose gonna be buying it? Me thats who.

So what should this portable title feature well how about we start with the title Reliving Nightmares.

Since to my knowledge Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine have never initially met, lets introduce them in this game.

Now whats Leon without a little help from his secret agent/fan love intrest Ada Wong. Since Leon would star in this game Ada wont be to far behind helping/hurting the cause i have planned for this game. I also see nothing wrong with a much anticipated meet up between the women and an awesome fight scene with Jill and Ada.

So guys Reliving Nightmares the title says it all how about we mess with our awesome heroes?

Can you guess from my selection and the title what I plan doing? How about I give you a hint, let’s have them relive what they all have in common..... Raccoon City!

That’s right the nightmare they all had to endure and survive through is back and it’s badder than ever.

Don’t get me wrong I’m fully aware that Raccoon City is well... nuke town but how about this since the T-virus and the G-virus were sold and dispatched to the highest bidders let’s make one of those buyers is a super maniacal psycho path with too much time on his hands who decides to take control of a small country only to turn into Raccoon City 2.0?

Thing is he spends his time recreating Raccoon City and all the events down to the T, was he there? Or did he spend a lot of time reading about what happened? I won’t tell :D

Zombies! there second game comeback since Revelations and there definite return to this game needs to happen for that classic feel plus if this game is going to recreate Raccoon City, then the zombies are the key point of the story. Why not throw in the Lickers also?

SCARE FACTOR: I don’t know about you guys but Resident Evil 2 and 3 scared me a lot and 4 was right up there so what needs to be brought back is the oh my god I don’t know what’s coming at me and what I need to shoot paranoia that those games heavily depicted.

Now for this we need to scare not only us but our main characters, I know your thinking our characters don’t get scared but think of something that would scare Jill to the point of absolute terror.

That’s right! I went there! Nemesis the creature on top of my scared me sh!tless list is making his big bad return, can you imagine the absolute terror in Jill's voice if she hears S.T.A.R.S. once again? Can you imagine my sheer terror if I heard that again?

Now something else that I’m going to mention is the puzzles and what they went through would make it too easy right? Wrong come on if the puzzles are hard for us they have to be hard for them wouldn’t want things to be too easy for them now would we? I propose we switch up the puzzles since this is basically doing Resident evil 2 and 3 over I think giving Leon the mixed oil puzzle, Claire the sewer puzzle helping Ada, and Jill helping lil Sherry Birkin.

Now let’s not just make this a straight "Hey crazy guy reenacted Raccoon City let’s get lazy." absolutely not we should have some new content squeeze in some extra characters and some behind the scenes Raccoon City details that were kept hidden.

Obviously we need to have our characters interact and what better way than our big bad nemesis enemy let’s say he starts chasing Claire thinking he's Jill, but then Leon, Claire, and Jill are all together and Claire says "You know this big monster thing was chasing after me." Jill responds "What are you talking about....?" Only to be interrupted by the infamous quote S.T.A.R.S! starting Jill's descent into true horror because she has to deal with him again, this time she won’t be alone and Leon and Claire know there’s other and always be bigger threats than just what they’re aware of.

Games i would like to see on the PS Vita: Devil May Cry: Tales of Sparda

Ok guys I’m a 50-50 person when it comes to the PS Vita (Don’t hate me lol.) I will say however if they start bringing out there A+ games then I would have no right to say no to Sony. I respect the Devil May Cry franchise from Capcom; something is missing though the tale of twins Dante and Vergil's father Sparda.

You know the legend, the bad ass demon that took down the demon world and loved a human woman who gave birth to Twin demon-human sons.

I’m wondering however how all of that transpired. What was Sparda’s defining moment in realizing that he had to take down the demon world and save humanity? Here are some key points that would have everything fit perfectly.

Sparda as a playable character equipped with Yamato, Force Edge and his guns Luce and Umbra his hand guns.

Other weapons should include: A scythe, Dark Gauntlets called Hades (since fire gauntlets were called Ifrit and gauntlets of light are called Beowulf.) Water and lightning duel wielding swords that creates lightning and limited weather manipulation.

As for Story elements I would like to know some main story elements for example— He spent time training brothers Baul and Modeus, who learned a lot from there master. The brothers looked up to and worshipped Sparda. If not temporary playable characters in themselves this should be brought to life in a game we only have a short appearance of the brothers in the short lived devil may cry anime.

In true Devil May Cry fashion Sparda is going to need help right? So enter a pretty bad ass woman who can hold her on in battle against a horde of demons and have us as gamers wonder how she would fare against lady or even Trish.

Sparda is responsible for a lot of events leading up to the other games. Sealing Temen-ni-gru and its gate keepers in the demon world he sealed himself in.

Mundus and his legions are nothing to laugh at, those 2000 years ago that was the brunt of Sparda and his rebellion to stop demons from eradicating humanity. In that respect bosses and characters are not hard to think of hordes of demons and generals are in store for us as gamers.

Not to spoil the possible end of this game but Tales Of Sparda should end with us defeating Mundus and him sealing the demon world with himself and the full power of his sword in it, this should set everything in motion for the rest of the games in the series and even give us some indentation as to where Sparda is/was or if he can actually meet his grown up sons and possibly fight alongside or against them.
