X-Men Days of Future Past Mobile Game Announced

Marvel has announced along with Glitchsoft to bring the classic X-men storylines to our phones... if it's a card or puzzle game it's safe to say we riot? The kind of game is still a mystery but we do know some core details.

VP of Games Production at Marvel TQ Jefferson said of the project, "GlitchSoft came to us with a pedigree of rock-solid game development, strong production values, and a passion for the Uncanny X-Men franchise that was impossible to ignore."

Days of Future past is a story line set in a dystopian future where mutants are interned in camps due to anti-mutant hysteria among the general population and takes place in Earth-811 reality in the Marvel Multiverse.
Glitchsoft's site for the game promises "Uncanny X-Men enthusiasts will be able to experience Marvel’s 1981 landmark Days of Future Past comic book story arc in an immersive and story-driven game."
Uncanny X-Men: Days of Future Past will be available for iOS and Android devices in May 2014 in conjunction with the Days of Future Past film.

Starlight in talks for movie adaptation

As if Mark Millar and his Kick-Ass fame wasn't getting him enough buzz and notice as an excellent writer, Starlight is in negotiations to be picked up as a movie also. Millar has described the series as either Flash Gordon meets the Dark Knight or, more awesomely, Buzz Lightyear meets Unforgiven.

“The comic, drawn by Goran Parlov and due to be published by Image in March, is described by Millar as Flash Gordon meets The Dark Knight Returns," as THR reminds us. "It centers on a space hero who saved the universe 35 years ago but came back to Earth, where no one believed his fantastic stories. He settled down, got married, had kids and got old, but then is called back for one last adventure when his old rocket shows up.”

As if we all didn't know that Wanted and Kick-Ass are with the Millar name and have brought him all kinds of success this movie is going to be great also! And with Secret Service joining the movie verse being adapted by Matthew Vaughn and has Sam Jackson in the cast.

Simon Kinberg will be writing the script and producing Starlight with movies like X-men: First Class and the sequel Days of Future Past.... he also had a hand in X-men: The Last Stand but we felt that with such good works why ruin it right? He'll also be producing another Millar Work Kindergarten Heroes so needless to say were going to have some busy people behind Millar and more great films hitting theaters in the comic world.

Take a closer look at the Sentinels in Days of Future Past

Just when you thought Trask Industries (An odd annagram for Stark.. just leaving that out in the open) back to the news at hand THE SENTINELS ARE COMING!, THE SENTINELS ARE COMING! Hide yo mutants hide yo kids!

"Trask Industries continues to uncover new ways to control the mounting X-gene threat," reads the pseudo-corporate site. "In 1973, Trask Industries introduced the first Sentinel production model, the Mark I. Bolivar Trask’s groundbreaking research in AI, robotics and autonomous ballistic systems laid the foundation for the world's most capable anti-mutant defense system. Since the program's inception, we’ve continued to advance our founder's cause through eight additional generational upgrades and enhancements."

Worried about the Sentinels lacking in the size department? Well stop worrying about that the movies coming out next year.. Plus the Sentinels are getting a Mark X upgrade in the movie which is my guess to be in the year 2020 where we'll be taken to the future.

Our mutants will definitely need to be from all across the movie verse to face these threats. especially with the mutant inhibitor collars being shown I'm pretty sure this is going to be a tough fight for our mutants past and future.

Bryan Singer casts Quicksilver in Days of Future Past

In confusing as f!@k comic book news first Bryan Singer cast Evan Peters in his 2014 film X-Men Days of Future Past, ok that's one Joss Whedon has confirmed to have added Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch into the draft script for Avengers 2:

Before he was an #Avenger, he was just a REALLY fast kid. Thrilled to say#EvanPeters is joining #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast as #Quicksilver.
— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) May 23, 2013

Since it's usually Scarlet Witch AND Quicksilver as a pair we'll be most likely seeing her in Days of future past as well but here are the confusing points. Who can or can not use the characters for the films? Marvel and Fox are both using the duo and this could play out in one of several ways.

  • Fox owns X-men characters if Marvel gets the ok to use them they wouldnt be able to mention their mutants and that they are the children of Magneto. Knowing Marvel they can turn this negative into a gag of sorts always mentioning they are mutants before getting cut off and talking about the daddy issues between the siblings.
  • Different versions of the characters would be used and or different actors  creating more work for the origins of these great characters.
Hopefully this can go the right way and the characters will be the experiment and the first of many characters to be included in Marvel movies from different movies and characters.

The Wolverine connects its claws to Days of Future Past

The top question on everyone's minds regarding The Wolverine is if it will connect to the Days of Future Past movie as well with Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine being such a big part of the series but I digress. The Wolverine takes place on it's own after things have already been established not to draw confusion to the previous continuity but it can still be used for the sake of argument. A quote below can now be seen on how the two movies can and hopefully will co-exist:

"Bryan and I have talked and he's seen what we've done," the director said. "Clearly the reality is that we are all trying to work together and make things groove together. But the trick is we were making our movie before Bryan came on and before I knew what they were up to in that film. Our agenda was always our agenda and our movie stands alone, so the journey we take Logan on in The Wolverine, we bring to a close."

What fans are expecting from The Wolverine

While it's doubtful Logan's journey will end after this movie it sure as hell will prepare him to go Sentinel hunting in Days of Future Past, hurry up July 26th so we can see our  post credits scene to another Marvel movie!

Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Kick Ass as Quicksilver?

With the confirmation of the mutant sibling duo Quicksilver Scarlet With in Avengers 2 and Quicksilver being in X-Men Days of Future Past, sadly the actors will have to be different since the franchises are owned by two different companies. In Whedon's Avengers 2 Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch can not be named mutants and they cant have relation to Magneto and be confirmed as his children, which would make for a funny gag on Marvel's part.

Whenever they would be called mutants by someone they would be cut off abruptly or if asked about daddy issues a block of metal should be shown floating around or something.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be a great Quicksilver the slick back white hair and the smart ass Pietro attitude would be a small change of pace from kick ass and a welcome one.

Bishop and Warpath join the Days of Future Cast

You read that title correctly our time traveling energy blast absorbing mutant and our X-Force member have been included in the X-Men: Days of Future Past cast.

Actors Omar Sy (Bishop) and BooBoo Stewart (Warpath) will portray the said characters, we all know Bishop fits due to his inclusion in the 90's cartoon and how time travel is pretty much in his mutant contract.

Warpath however is prominently on X-Force so it's going to be interesting to see how his portrayal can help his chances of coming to the movie-verse and possibly have more in store for him.

Anyone reading this I can already tell what your next question is... Where is Cable?
