Dead or Alive 5+ Review

Hello everyone I am a new edition to DarkPhoenix Inc. My name is Shadow and I am here to bring you the games that MrDarkPhoenix is too lazy to write and well since he is such a Xbox fanboy as well I am here to bring you the reviews dealing with games that are coming out for the Playstation 3 and PS Vita. Well along with the reviews of games I am also here to give you the latest news with games as best as I could possibly give also!!

The next line in the Dead or Alive series comes in your hands for the Playstation Vita in Dead or Alive 5+.I know I know the question you all have in your mind when it comes to this is "oh great another port coming to the vita that's going to be bad also" but I am here today to prove you are wrong about that thought if you read on you will see why I am saying this.

If you don't read on Mila will do this to you!!!

The story takes place 2 years after the events that occurred in the Fourth Dead or Alive World Championship  Tournament but this time shockingly enough the person who is in control of the committee and is trying to rebuild it for the better is none other than Helena herself!!. I guess it sucks having to fix everything that Victor Donovan did in order to make the public believe that DOATEC is trying to do good and she makes Zack her promoter to hold the best tournament ever. But as always you can always say in every DOA game everything is always Kasumi's fault!!! But moving on, all your favorite people make a come back in this game  such as Ayane, Tina Armstrong, Kasumi, Helena, Ryu Hayabusa, Christie and a lot of other characters are in the game also.

One thing I should also mention is the game itself is smooth and runs at 60 frames per second (to be honest that is pretty amazing for a handheld!!) and the visuals are beautiful from the 3D backgrounds to the designs of the characters. The biggest thing that can be said about this port is the fact that it is cross compatible with the Playstation 3 version!! That's right take some time to bask it in a bit but you can play someone who has the PS3 version and kick some ass without even having to pick up a controller. Another thing is that you can also play online with it as well so you can play anyone from around the world that has the PS3 or Vita version. The Vita version also has another feature called Touch Fighting where you use the swipe features of the vita to fight the opponent and it does this in a first person style as well.

What Team ninja also did for the game for those who would own both the ps3 and the Vita version is that you can cross save your data for both games to fully customize your characters any where you go no matter what or where you go and lets not forget all the costumes and DLC that is available to dress up your favorite characters in different outfits.

Come on who wouldn't enjoy seeing two beautiful women in bunny bikinis fighting

Lets sum up this review
Good points:
  • Beautiful Visuals and no lag time with everything running at 60 frames per second all the time
  • All your favorite characters make a come back
  • Cross compatible with the PS3 version and able to cross save to keep customizing your character no matter where you go
  • Already has a lot of DLC available in the store to buy so you can dress up your favorite characters
 Bad points:
  • The Touch Fighting feature is a good feature but it does take a while to get used to it

As far as it goes to Try, Buy or Shy I would recommend to buy this game and take it from me I am not a person who plays fighters and enjoys them like how i enjoyed playing this game. Team Ninja did an amazing job porting this game to the Vita and keeping it as beautiful and fun as the PS3 and Xbox360 version.

Kasumi teleports herself into DOA5.. with someone else!

For a while even before DOA5 i always wondered what would happen if DoA crossed fists and kicks with another fighting game franchise, since Tekken is busy my only other choice was ???????? (Thats for later) Kasumi comes back to DoA after her long battle with her clone Alpha-152 at the end of DoA4 and its glad to see she's ready for battle with the rest of cast and a new addition! Virtua Fighter is another 3D fighting game that comes to us and will be crossing paths with our DoA fighters.

Kasumi/ Swoozie vs. Akira/ Shidosha!!
Two franchises go at it in a battle of counters and Akira the hard hitting Bajiquan user of Virtua Fighter goes head to head with the gang of DoA. Not sure if he's going to be the only one out of Virtua Fighter to make an appearance would be cool to line up the whole roster to get owned by DoA one by one but hey we'll see right? He better not cross paths with my personal favorite Bajiquan master Kokoro though.. Man i love Kokoro but i think it's great putting in another fighter into our neck of the woods adds more diversity to our game plus Akira is hard enough to master in Virtua Fighter but giving him counters i can see bruises now.

If i had to pick other Virtua Fighter characters that would be cool to be in Dead or Alive 5:

Jean Kujo:

A brainwashed assassin that goes after the ninjas or anyone else in his way! His story and playstyle would fit well into DoA5.

El Blaze:
The male luchador and a great rival/ friend to Lisa, plus now Bass and Tina would have proper lucha rivals!

Vanessa:
I've liked her tough assassin persona even though she isnt an assassin she is no push over, i'd like to see her take on Bass and Bayman.

Jeffrey McWild:
Big Australian man breaks your bones and beats you down.. he can try not in my DoA house!

Eileen:
The crazy monkey girl of the series her fighting style is unique enough to give her a shot, plus i can see her being friends with the cast.

Lion Rafale:
I can see him being a rival to Eliot (Call me crazy) or for an even crazier rivalry Christie since they share a stance almost.

Ninja Gaiden 3 removes that limb slicing feel good experience

Remember playing Ninja Gaiden 2? slicing and dicing your way through the already hard enough to kill enemies, just when they were about to die you got the last hit you would take an arm, leg, or even an OFF WITH THERE HEAD? Ninja Gaiden 3 will not have the signature feature included in the newest not Tomonobu Itagaki made sequel. What does this mean for the gamers like me that needed to slow down the enemies who were limping at you with one leg or something? A member of the development team has said the following: "We don't think people want to see that anymore, they’ve already seen it." That is very true I have seen it before…. And would like to see it more and with more gore.

Let's not lose our heads over this...ok maybe one.

What do you think this means? They want to make a title that steers away from what Itagaki started? Or maybe something else? I mean realistically speaking sharp swords; scythes, staffs and all the other ninja gear you get can slice through a lot more than people think. Hopefully they’ll see that we need the small feature that makes Ninja Gaiden what it is and it will be in the final build.

With Ninja Gaiden coming out sometime next year there is always more news and other things they will tell us, like perhaps if this is connected to a new Dead Or Alive title!? With Ayane being in the games before,

Kasumi being teased at the end of the second game,

Stop Playing Kasumi we all know thats you

Rachel and her giant hammer slamming down foes like nothing,

Sonia the agent and gun expert form Ninja Gaiden 2,

Last but not least lets not forget about momoji the rookie ninja from Nintendo DS title Dragon Sword whose become independent and bad ass.

Hopefully there is going to be some female help for our boy Ryu Hayabusa after all he ALWAYS has help from a very bad ass and attractive female, one more character they seem to leave out is Hayate another ninja from dead or alive who knows Ryu perhaps he can make his debut in a Ninja Gaiden Title and show us if there’s hope for us Dead Or Alive fighting game fans.
