Starlight in talks for movie adaptation

As if Mark Millar and his Kick-Ass fame wasn't getting him enough buzz and notice as an excellent writer, Starlight is in negotiations to be picked up as a movie also. Millar has described the series as either Flash Gordon meets the Dark Knight or, more awesomely, Buzz Lightyear meets Unforgiven.

“The comic, drawn by Goran Parlov and due to be published by Image in March, is described by Millar as Flash Gordon meets The Dark Knight Returns," as THR reminds us. "It centers on a space hero who saved the universe 35 years ago but came back to Earth, where no one believed his fantastic stories. He settled down, got married, had kids and got old, but then is called back for one last adventure when his old rocket shows up.”

As if we all didn't know that Wanted and Kick-Ass are with the Millar name and have brought him all kinds of success this movie is going to be great also! And with Secret Service joining the movie verse being adapted by Matthew Vaughn and has Sam Jackson in the cast.

Simon Kinberg will be writing the script and producing Starlight with movies like X-men: First Class and the sequel Days of Future Past.... he also had a hand in X-men: The Last Stand but we felt that with such good works why ruin it right? He'll also be producing another Millar Work Kindergarten Heroes so needless to say were going to have some busy people behind Millar and more great films hitting theaters in the comic world.

John Romita Jr. and Mark Millar confirmed cameo's for Kick-Ass 2 movie

Just when we thought Kick-Ass couldn't get any more awesome, creators Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. confirm they will have cameos in the film Kick-Ass 2! Pulling a Stan Lee fellas? It's great to see little things like this in the comic community and it's obvious how much they both the franchise that keeps getting better and better.

During the big battle between Justice Forever (Mark Millar) and The Toxic Mega Cunts (John Romita Jr.) will be facing off against each other in a funny battle of superiority! Not to sure what's going to happen but that's why you'll have to watch the film and keep an eye out for them.. judging by the costumes it shouldn't be to hard to find them.

What fans are expecting from Kick Ass 2

Kick Ass 2 is coming to theatres August 2013 and I'm a huge fan of the series and the comic Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall... but what should you guys be expecting? Certain events that i read in the comic that teased us need to happen and some possibly newer things that can happen. So take a look at my checklist of things that us the fans are expecting from the movie hit Kick-Ass 2.

With the aftermath of what Dave Lizewski started being a superhero, other masked individuals are forming and it won't only be Kick-Ass and Hit Girl.

Superheroes breed super villains and I know we haven't forgotten about Red Mist now taken on the persona of The Motherfucker, speaking of that Christopher Mintz-Plasse has A LOT of deep and dark places to go to in order for this performance to go off without a hitch.

The Mother Fucker is a ruthless killing machine who does everything possible to create chaos for Kick-Ass because of what happened to his dad at the end of the first movie, Christopher Mintz-Plasse must up his game and darken his newly created persona because as fans of the comic series some real messed up sh*t happens and Chris is going to have a ball playing this character.

Aaron Johnson has a lot of emotion to portray also the emotional strain and trauma of what he's in for both as Dave and Kick-Ass, can he handle everything? Will he break his no killing rule after everything he endures? Will this make him a stronger hero?

Controversial event(s) take place during this comic and the movie should portray them because it's a real life and gritty adaptation of superheroes and villains alike, Judging from the latest trailer he takes one iconic event and quite possibly makes it a double whammy of evil.

Hit Girl... she's fine and only has to worry about struggling between the "Normal" life she promised Marcus and the life she knows she's destined for which is Hit Girl.

The battles and fights are a lot more hard hitting especially with that of Mother Russia and Hit Girl, the tension between these two powerhouses needs to be portrayed as a rivalry between a fully trained adult versus a fully trained little girl whose taken on her fair share of threats... can one of them be lacking something the other one can take advantage of?

The iconic battle of good vs evil especially with the heroes should be as realistic as it can be the Justice Forever goes on missions and to see a couple of them would be a treat to the viewers because they get involved in some pretty messed up stuff.

Fox recruits Mark Millar for movies... MAXIMUM AWESOME!

Ever wonder when the hell Marvel was going to step up there game even more in the movies department with other franchises? well look no further because Fox has recruited Mark Millar as a creative consultant for such movies as X-Men and Fantastic Four! I know that's so much to take in so I'll it down for you take a breather and keep reading. So far Fox has... Daredevil (shudder) under it's belt as movies without the help of Mark Millar and now its obvious with his years of writing Ultimate X-Men and Ultimate Fantastic Four this help could not have come at a better time with Disney owning Marvel can the arrival of The Wolverine hitting theaters July 23, 2013 and Days of Future Past coming 2014 with everything happening to us movie wise in the next couple years can we see these franchises merged to help us against Thanos?! Mark Millar can most likely make it happen and if that wasn't enough a rebooted Josh Trank Fantastic Four reboot is on the way also!

I want to see Kick ass in Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Gamers and comic book nerds reunite in Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3 the game that pits the question of whether or not Chris Redfield punching boulders can actually even hurt the hulk. Or Wolverine who has lived through countless wars with claws sharper than knives can keep up with the barefoot main hero of the Street Fighter series. That is possibly another series of articles depending on fan demand, I would love to write versus articles to be completely fair and unbiased, but I digress now.

Anyone know of a little comic series known as Kick Ass? For those of you that don’t know Kick-Ass itself is an original comic written by none other than Mark Miller and drawn by the very talented John Romita Jr. now you may think that this is completely off topic but it isn’t the fact of the matter is Marvel does (hold on to that thought) own the publishing rights to Kick Ass yes. Secondly Mark Miller and John Romita own the rights to said comic series. Now what I said before about it being owned by Marvel is true enough to... wait for it… have those characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I’m going to tell you why first why I believe they or even you should consider it, being an avid comic book reader I always have a say about which of my beloved comic book characters I would love to see in a fighting game adaptation and if you’ve seen Kick Ass the movie as much as I have then you automatically know why I am suggesting Hit-Girl, Big Daddy, and the man himself Dave lizewski aka Kick Ass.

Now while Marvel publishes it under their Icon imprint there is something that you should know, that among other things proves that they can be included into the game all it would take is asking Frank Miller and John Romita Jr. for the rights of their characters to be put into the game. Capcom has been stated in saying they have full access to Marvel’s already large library so why not dip your hands into another dimensions pot of sorts? The Capcom side as you know is filled with different universes since Capcom isn’t all that connected we have Ghost and Goblins, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Mega Man Legends, and Darkstalkers, all within the same company but in different universes.

The idea of having the trio from the very popular comic book would be a blessing especially that of Hit-Girl but I can see where you have doubts, Hit Girl does curse a lot in the comics and the movies and would be considered to “hardcore” for the game. But the last time I checked wolverine,X-23, and Deadpool were all killers and assassins, heck there is another team called the X-force that is devoted to X-men that will up there game and kill to get the job done so that in one respect is not an excuse in my opinion. All in all I don’t think it would be hard to implement the trio into a fighting game just tone down Hit Girls language and get the ok from Mark Miller and John Romita Jr. and you will seeing a lot of happy faces from Kick Ass fans and Marvel fans alike.

I know what you’re thinking now “But MrDarkPhoenix they don’t have rivals from the Capcom side that would give them a run for their money”. That is where your wrong true believer I will now give you the perfect rivals for Hit Girl, Big Daddy, and Kick Ass. First off is Hit-Girl this choice literally put the bullet in your brain and these fighters have so much in common it’s not even funny…. No really it’s actually quite creepy, can you guess who it is? BB Hood from the Darkstalkers series. Not only does she have to make her reappearance in this game being a fan favorite in the second game but BB is just like Hit Girl: a wise cracking, gun expert with a short fuse and a lust for blood. I don’t know about you but to see those two go all out in a trailer would be a nerd dream come true.

Next up we have Big Daddy the hard justice assassin who trained Hit Girl and is himself a top killing machine, which is why his rival should be none other than M.Bison (or Vega in Japan) from Street Fighter. Think about he’s all about killing criminals and Bison is the most crooked crook of them all. There’s more blood in this fight then I think the human body can handle but again it’s a fight I would love to see.

And finally we have Kick Ass finding a “rival” for our hero was a little tough until I realized he is kind of a joke character and Capcom is chock full of those which is why I believe his rivals are not limited to Servbot, Roll, or even Dan from Street Fighter. This fight is a little less serious which is good because it would be funny as all get out to watch him try and hit a little Lego robot or see who would faint first in a battle against Dan. With this coming to a close all I have left to say if we’ve waited eleven years for this game to happen which we thought was impossible then why not add in a variety of characters from the already existent marvel universe all you might have to do is dip your hand into different cookie jars is all.
