Arrow has it's Suicide Squad

With an arrow episode hinting and basically showing Amanda Waller assembling a "Squad" we all knew the Suicide Squad was coming and we are now introduced to them!

The Suicide Squad:
Michael Jai White as Ben Turner aka Bronze Tiger
Sean Maher as Mark Scheffer aka Shrapnel
Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Amanda Waller
Michael Rowe as Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot
Audrey Marie Anderson as Lyla Michaels,
David Ramsey as John Diggle in Arrow.

This episode is going to be Diggle-heavy which is good becaause he's a great charater portrayed by a great actor and not to mention awesome!

“The coolest part is we actually have Ben Browder back, who played Dig's former commanding officer, who is a villain in the present day - but back in the old days he was just Dig's commanding officer. A special shout-out to Ben Browder, because he actually took a significant pay cut to do this, because this episode was getting out of hand financially, and he just said, 'You guys are cool guys, and I had fun.’ So he is a great guy.”

“He is awesome in this episode. It's so much fun to see him play -- obviously he's playing the same character, just like the way Stephen plays Island Oliver and present-day Oliver -- but Ben is bringing this nice little subtle difference to the flashback, especially in his relationship with Diggle. They're commanding officer and subordinate, but they're still friends, and you see that closeness that was all just talked about in episode 11 from last year. So it's a treat for us.”

We can look forward to the "Suicide Squad" episode of Arrow March 19th

SDCC 2013: Harley Quinn gets solo comic series

If you're like many comic book fans this long 10yr wait since Harley graced her own comic book is a long wait and now it's been confirmed we wait no longer! Mistah J's own clown princess is getting her own monthly series in the new 52 co-writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner, along with an unknown artist, will be putting Harleen Quinzel in the spotlight in a new ongoing series.

"We took a good long look at the New 52 version and then applied it to what we were going to do in the series. Harley is a complex character and we are going to build on her background, motivations and her home and supporting cast. Sort of what we did with Power Girl but with a mix of a bit more homicidal maniac added in."

Conner added,

"We want to put her in a new surroundings, with new people, and see how she behaves in that environment. Is she going to try to keep it together, or is she just going to cut loose and introduce her new world to the Harley brand of crazy?"

But what about Mistah J your wondering? Bat-Family guests? Guest stars in general can all be answered with these quotes:

"The Joker is someone that she'll never be able to shake, nor is she really going to want to. Their relationship is a lot of what defines her now, although she is going to get into a lot of stuff where it has nothing to do with him. But that will always be looming in the background. She'll have some serious ex-boyfriend issues."
"I always think its a bit of a weakness to start pouring guest stars in every issue out of the gate, but she does play in a very colorful world," said Palmiotti. "In this series, we are moving Harley out of Gotham to a place that makes sense for her. Gotham will always be a part of her adventures, but we've got some madness up our sleeves.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Review

Ever wonder what would happen if Superman decided that the human race can no longer govern themselves and he needs to take over the earth unifying it under one government that is controlled by him? Well your answer is right here by Ed boon and  NetherRealm Studios as Injustice: Gods Among Us. Now now I know what you are thinking "oh no the last time they did something like this it was the worst idea ever" but lets be honest here we know everyone in NetherRealm Studios and Ed Boon himself learned that DC vs Mortal Kombat was an epic fail that we just don't talk about. Now before I get on with the Review I'm sure you all know this is in fact another 3D fighter with a Mortal Kombat feel to it. But anyhow lets get on with the Review shall we?

The story of the game itself in a nut shell is that Superman finally goes against his boy scout code and decides on his own that earth is no longer able to fully be controlled by humans after 8 million people died in the explosion of Metropolis city(yes that does mean Lois Lane and their baby as well). Shockingly enough you would think it would be because of someone like Lex Luthor, Doomsday or even Darkseid would be responsible but the one who is responsible for it all is the Clown Prince of Crime himself...Take a moment to bask that in for a bit, yes people I am talking about the Joker himself.

Don't be fooled by the pie!!!

So after the events of that happening the game itself takes place 5 years after that event and Superman has basically established a new world order making heroes clash against each other. And of course there is always a resistance and it is led by none other than Batman himself (oh come on you know that was going to be a given like that was going to be any shock). And before anyone flips out about it yes it is in an alternate universe as well. The game features an amazing cast of characters including Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Nightwing, Flash, Green Arrow, Raven, Harley Quinn and other characters.

Messed up? maybe but come on who doesn't like to see Bane break Batman over and over again :evil grin:

Another fun feature in the game is the STAR Labs which is basically the challenge tower for the game  and lets not forget the wonderful costumes they have designed for each character giving most people their new 52 outfits and some of them the old school looks as well. One thing I do have to say is that they really took their time with the stages, They decided that you can almost interact with the background and use certain items to cause damage and honestly the fact that they even added the area you are in to get destroyed as the battle goes on is really something as well. One of my favorite things to do in the game also is called level transition where you can send an opponent from one area to another. I'd show you a video describing it but that's ruining the fun in seeing it on your own and seeing all the different cameos from different heroes and villains that appear as well.

One thing that's HIGHLY upsetting about is that they did not add my favorite character in. I mean come on they put Aquaman who is freaking useless before they put him in. Who is my favorite character you ask?

Well let me just not put it in words but show you instead:

Yes Red Hood a.k.a Jason Todd

Lets be honest he would be a PERFECT addition to this game and they didn't even bother putting him in!!! (Again)

Well now that the rant is gone away lets go to the final parts of the review shall we?

Good parts:
  • Very well created story
  • A well balanced cast of heroes and villains that are available to play as
  • Beautiful visuals along with an interactive backgrounds makes you feel as if the area would be destroyed the more they are fighting
  • Kevin Conroy is Batman and Tara strong is Harley Quinn and Raven...come on those two are amazing as the voice actors for these characters
  • Offers different ways of challenging yourself when you play the battle mode to give yourself a challenge and make you better
Bad parts:
  • Some of the fights are debatable if they were to actually go head to head if they would actually win
  • RED HOOD IS NOT IN THE GAME!!!!
My final verdict as of try, buy, or shy? I would definitely recommend you to buy the game its absolutely worth buying in my opinion

Now I'm not entirely sure if they will do DLC for this game but I am assuming so since you can buy a season pass already for this game I figured I would end this by recommending some of my own ideas for characters to add for this game as DLC

Characters:

Need I say it again?

Would love to see Starfire in the game

Both Supergirl and Superboy

Static Shock.....worth a shot even though DC hates on him

Mistah J. would be proud of ya Harley

Batman: Arkham City is the game that has taken me on the gaming ride of my life, its taken my strength and wisdom to survive the madness and i gotta say the DLC i always wanted is finally coming to us in the Batman: Arkham City Game of the year edition.

Six months after the release of the game we know get our bundled together edition that comes with everything you've been wanting or what you already have in one awesome package: Including Catwoman, Nightwing, and Robin as your challenge map characters every challenge map from the iceberg lounge to the Batcave, Batman Year One the movie, all the costumes for Batman and Harley's revenge for free. Did you already buy all the content and just want the new DLC mission added to your main game? Don't worry the same day the DLC comes out will be the same day the GOTY will release. Harley's revenge will come with new areas and the closing story of the Arkham City story as well as switching between Batman and the boy wonder Tim Drake himself.. (So what the heck is Nightwing doing!?) and possibly give us hints for what were up against in.... Gotham?? I would hope to see Harley as a secret challenge map character would hate saying goodbye after i complete this one and only DLC. It would make a lot of sense to make Harley a playable character and once completed to roam Arkham City as Robin!

What do you all think will happen? Will Harley have help from her good friend Poison Ivy? I do think Harley would turn to her for comfort since the two happen to be really great friends and a dangerous duo proven at times. Let's not forget Harley is a pretty bad threat on her own, some think the Joker is the backbone of the two but at times he's caging a beast and because of how Arkham City ended whose going to cage the beast now??

My Cast Monday: Harley Quinn

Mila Kunis:

Not only do i think that she would be the perfect comedic side kick to the joker but she's got a knack for putting her own flare to everything she does (Book of Eli and Black Swan) her hard work and dedication and mentality to go over the top..... that's the Harley Quinn we all deserve.

Christina Ricci:

Awww look at that face.... that's the out right point of her and what she can bring to Harley an adorable face but a completely warped mind that is dangerous and down right funny.

Helena Bonham Carter:
Speaking of warped minds i bring you one of the most warped acting minds to play the role of Harley Quinn she would have a great costume idea since she has a Harley look and her mind can go to dark places already so i know she can do the role justice.

Amy Poehler:

Now we move to the woman that i know has the funny factor to pull this role off, being psychotic though might be a challenge but i don't put it past Amy to give us the Harley that would keep us laughing. Remember when i put Tina Fey as Poison Ivy? well now we have twice the lesbian action if the two of them were ever casted!

Batman: Arkham City Review

I am Blogging! I am a nerd! I AM MRDARKPHOENIX!! Ok i couldn't resist its one of the most iconic quotes from my nerd childhood. What's up Batmen, Robins, Batgirls, and Joker's i have taken time out of my busy days of pummeling thugs and my extensive investigation from the Dark Phoenix Cave to bring you my review of Batman: Arkham City. Is it the best comic book based game? Is Batman our hope to other great superhero video games? Do BatNipples make a come back? Enough questions damn it read on!

Better read on i don't like that face at all.....
Six months after braving the insanity that was Arkham Asylum, Batman is back and having to fight the corruption that has now taken over a part of Gotham known as Arkham City an entire city which is home to the craziest and most dangerous rouges Batman has put away all in one place. With Batman their to stop them and all the villains wanting to kill each other you guys think Batman has his work cut out for him? Can any of you think of a worse trial Batman has to face.... Oh yea DODGING DARKSIED AND HIS OMEGA BEAM! AND DYING!! Put that feat in a game... moving on from that, you interact with an upgraded roster ranging from Mad Hatter, Joker, Harley Quinn, and Hugo Strange to name a few (Trust me your no where near done yet with the villains your facing.) Its your duty from stopping these villains and more from totally ransacking Arkham City with violence and destruction and make sure they know who to fear in Gotham no matter where you are.

Something else about the story that's just well.... purrrfect is the addition of our favorite cat burglar extraordinaire Catwoman aka Selina Kyle, only in Arkham City for her needs? Going to where Batman goes to stir up some kindled romance between them? Blackmailed by someone higher up due to her skills? Well no matter what you think her motives or the plans for our cat she's here and man does she come prepared: A unique fighting style that fits her perfectly to a T, Her own gadgets(not a lot but still.), her own place in the story not a big part but Catwoman always stirs up trouble and we see just how much trouble and who she gets into trouble with.

Your gameplay remains untouched.... Oh wait i can use gadgets now mid combat, double and triple take downs and special barrages where you can really unleash your fury on idiots who think they can take you out... what i never said they were smart in Arkham City. Aerial traveling has been changed up as well now you have the option of pulling a Spider-Man and swinging high with a little boost, and rocketing down known with the dive boost. I'M BATMAN!!

The graphics in this game, I'm not sure if there is a world that can allow my eyes to see the absolute and sheer beauty this game gives me when I'm looking at it on 1080p HD but Rocksteady my eyes thank you and i will never game the same knowing The Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Batman look this great ever again, i mean its like the HDTV punched me and went ZAPOW! Environments are what you would expect from Batman over the years of knowing him, dark and gritty re imagined New York on steroids.. i mean Gotham looks pretty amazing also.

Now we move on to my points on whether it is a Try, Buy, or Shy:

Good Points:
  • By far the best intro mission for a superhero game to date!
  • Character representation seems big but everyone gets their fair shot in and that's how you know they took their time with this game.
  • Villain selections are not what you would expect and keep me on my toes scared/wondering who I'm going to fight next.
  • Complete nerd fan service to the max!
  • Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, Tara Strong, and Quinton Flynn grant their voices to this game and its something that brings the game to respect the fan base and know who we want to voice who in a game of this magnitude.
  • Surpasses Arkham Aslyum in both stage presence and design... I don't think were in the asylum anymore.
  • Catwoman is an excellent addition to the story mode and to challenge maps with her speedy and unique gameplay followed by her two alternate costumes she's packing claws and catswag.
  • All the added features greatly improve on the games already great stepped up system.
  • Finding certain villains requires you to use your brains and gadgets making exploring Arkham City a chore in itself.
  • Character cameo's are complete nerd nostalgic and make my nerd meter go off the charts (Not a lot of comic book based games do that.)

Bad Points:
  • ..... ummmm I'm not Batman.....
  • This game will be Mark Hamill's last performance as The Joker :-(

With the points i have brought to you and your utility belt my final verdict for this game is........ BUY!! Go out right now and get this damn game!! Its if not Game of the year than someone has a sick vision of what the best is because this game offers you the whole package and Rocksteady has worked insanely hard to get this game right and they have succeeded greatly.

Characters i would love to see in Batman Arkham City challenge maps

Harley Quinn:
You need more of a reason to play as her.. ok i thought the picture would be enough for you but if you insist. Harley is a superb gymnast and is very quick and agile, not the best hand to hand combatant but still good and with weapons and fire arms its a done deal. Would be funny if they gave her a mallet as a gadget though, her fighting style wouldnt be hard to implement and gadgets all with hilarious perks while watching her fight and take down baddies would be to awesome for words.

Alt costumes for Harley Quinn:

Damian Wayne:
The Son of the Bat should make his debut in a video game, even if its for challenge maps and non-cannon it would be great to see this lil master fighter appear. He's a powerhouse for being so young (Did you forget who his daddy is?) Damian's fighting style comes with years of training shouldnt make him a hard character to give a moveset and gadgets to. Plus being the new Robin does have its perks, how about they give him that sword on his back in the picture and work there way around that.

Alt Costumes for Damian:

Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl:
What better way to show how she got her start then playing as her before her unfourtunate accident, being trained by Richard Dragon and Batman himself mixed with her own self style of fighting crime she would be the perfect person to play as in a series of challenge maps.

Alt costumes for Batgirl:
